Bienvenido
The Society for Caribbean Linguistics (SCL), in collaboration with the Society for Pidgin and Creole Languages (SPCL), will meet at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, Heredia and Límon, Costa Rica from 5 to 12 August 2018 for its 22nd Biennial Conference. The Conference will be hosted by the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica under the theme "Connecting the Caribbean: Languages, Borders, and Identities”.
Please note that the Conference will be split between two cities, beginning in Heredia on 5 August, them moving on to Limón from 8 to 11 August. Transportation between the two sites is included in the full Registration fee. See more information under Accommodation.
Abstracts on all types of Caribbean languages are invited. Caribbean languages include spoken and signed languages, Amerindian languages, Creole languages, standardised, official and non-standardised language varieties, immigrant languages, heritage languages, endangered languages, and religious and ritual languages. ACCEPTANCE: Once you have received your formal acceptance letter, please confirm or cancel your attendance as necessary. Registration is key for the planning and programming process, and only registered participants will appear on the programme 4 weeks before the start of the conference.
La Sociedad de Lingüística del Caribe (SCL, por sus siglas en inglés) en colaboración con la Sociedad de Pidgins y Lenguas Criollas (SPCL, siglas en inglés), se reunirán en Costa Rica del 5 al 12 de agosto de 2018 para celebrar su 22º Congreso Bienal. El congreso será organizado por la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica bajo el lema "Conectando el Caribe: Lenguas, fronteras e identidades”.
Se invita a remitir resúmenes acerca de todo tipo de lenguas del Caribe. Las lenguas del Caribe incluyen lenguas habladas y de señas, lenguas amerindias, lenguas criollas, estandarizadas, oficiales y variedades de lenguas no estandarizadas, lenguas autóctonas, lenguas patrimoniales, lenguas en peligro y lenguas de uso religioso y ritual. »
