Welcome to SCL 2020


The Society for Caribbean Linguistics (SCL) will meet in Trinidad & Tobago from 3 to 9 August 2020 (including travel days) for its 23rd Biennial Conference. The Conference will be hosted by The University of the West Indies, St Augustine, under the theme “Caribbean Linguistic Heritage and Digital Initiatives.”

About The SCL

The SCL is a scholarly linguistics Society dedicated to the study of language in the Caribbean and to the dissemination of both the theoretical and applied research of its members. The Society had its beginnings in the 1968 Creole Linguistics Conference at the Mona campus of The University of the West Indies in Jamaica, and was formally established in July 1972 at the St. Augustine campus of The U.W.I. in Trinidad & Tobago.
